A jar of Homemade Macadamia Nut Butter

In today’s world of literally every kind of nut made into butter, it’s surprisingly hard to find a good macadamia nut butter. Either the jar is full of too much other stuff (I’m looking at you soy/palm oil etc 😑..)  or too small to be a worthwhile value. A good nut butter should really only have nuts and maybe salt and a healthy fat added (🥥). Since it’s so simple, why not make it yourself? Exactly.

Roasted macs (aka king of nuts), salt, and coconut oil. That’s it. Blend it. Store it. Top it on everything you eat (🧇)  for the next few weeks till the jar is done. Repeat. It’s really nice being able to fully control the ingredients in this nut butter, so there is zero guilt about serving it to the family. Macadamia nuts are naturally so creamy and have the most wonderful nutty, fruity, floral flavor that is unparalleled in the wide world of nuts. Not only is this butter simple and tasty, it’s full of healthy fats and protein. Seeing how much Little has enjoyed having a scoop of homemade mac nut butter (thanks, Uncle 😸) on his daily bowl of oatmeal or blueberry banana pancakes is enough to justify having a jar of this beautiful butter on hand at all times.

Feel free to experiment with other desired add-ins like honey, cinnamon, or even other nuts or seeds to create a custom blend. Dates (Medjool variety) gets a lone sentence; because they are simply heavenly, so toss a few in (or a dozen 😸) and mix it up. You will literally be gassed up for any mental or physical endeavor following this caloric extravaganza since your energy/satiety levels will be through the roof. It feels like cheating/eating candy, the dates+mac 1-2 punch 🥊. And while macadamia nuts aren’t the cheapest, making the butter yourself comes out to be far more economical than buying store-bought. Once you try making your own, you’ll fall in love and want to smother it on everything.
