Two shot glasses and a Mason Jar full of Immune-Boosting Ginger Turmeric Orange Juice

You know that sinking feeling when someone at home gets a cold and you find yourself anxiously biding your time till it gets you, too? No more🫸 ! Next time, instead of giving up hope and helplessly waiting your turn, fix up a batch of this golden elixir of a juice 🧃 and stand strong 💪 with a boosted immune system. This super potent orange juice will give you a fighting chance at battling whatever cooties creeped into your sanctuary and warding off any future bouts of seasonal ailments. Even if you’ve already got a bug, a few shots a day of this sunny stuff will pep you up and get you on the mend in a jiffy.

A few simple, yet powerful ingredients come together in the whirl 🌪️ of a blender to deliver a punchy 🥊 way to beat a flu 🤧 or cold. With oranges, lemons, ginger, and turmeric, this juice is a spicy and tangy remedy that’s as tasty as it is beneficial. If you’ve got citrus trees, this is a perfect way to use up a lot of oranges and lemons at once. It’s also a perfect use for any leftover hunks of fresh ginger you’ve chucked into the freezer and forgotten about. While you can certainly use turmeric powder, I highly recommend fresh turmeric root if you can find some at a local grocery. The flavor is better and less dirt-like than powdered turmeric. Simply blend all the ingredients together, adjusting for taste if you’d like it more pungent, sweet, or sour. Then store it in a large glass jar or individual shot bottles and store in the fridge for up to 10 days.

Enjoy a shot a day as part of your regular wellness routine or up to several shots a day if you’re fighting off a cold. We use our espresso glasses to serve up a daily dose of this magical sunshine juice. Tastes better than any medicine I know of and does a spectacular job of keeping you well even in a house full of sickies.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6-8 large oranges 🍊, peeled
  • 2-3 large lemons 🍋, peeled
  • 2-3 chunks fresh turmeric, or 1-2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 4-5 chunks fresh ginger 🫚
  • 2 cups water
  • Dash of black pepper
  • Dash of cayenne pepper 🌶️

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and no chunks remain.
  2. Drape a cheesecloth or strainer over a large bowl and pour the juice over it. Squeeze out the cheesecloth or push down the pulp over the strainer to extract all the juice into the bowl.
  3. Transfer the juice to a pitcher with a lid or individual serving size bottles and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  4. Enjoy one shot daily or as needed to support a healthy immune system.
